Helen Irving

Elected to Morley Town Council in 2023. Councillor Helen Irving was brought up in and has lived in and around Morley most of her life. She attended Drighlington Juniors and Morley High School. She was a founding committee member of the Friends of Springfield Park, holding Greenbelt Group to account to ensure they met their stewardship obligations, organising community activity and events, securing Big Lottery funding and winning a Leeds City Council Community Organisation award. She is delighted that the park will have a new play area as part of the Morley Town Deal. She worked for many years as a teacher, including at Joseph Priestley College. Moving onto Leeds Beckett University to manage and deliver European Social Funded projects and now works for the NHS England in the IT and Digital Directorate. Helen is a member of the Planning and Audit Committees.
