Mayor’s Delight at Yorkshire Day success
Morley Mayor, Councillor Robert Finnigan confirmed his delight at the success of his charity stall, which raised over £300 to support the Martin House and Forget Me Not children’s hospices over the Yorkshire Day weekend.
Councillor Finnigan said “I was joined by the Mayoress Lisa Finnigan, Deputy Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Roger and Christine Bell and other supporters on the stall for the day. Morley Folk are renowned for their generosity and they supported the stall – along with supporting other charities in the Town.”
The stall ran a ‘Play Your Cards Right’ tombola to win cakes baked by local residents.
Councillor Finnigan said “I am grateful to the people of Morley, including everyone who generously baked buns and cakes to support the charity event and all those who worked hard all day to support both these brilliant charities.”
