Vacancy for a Town Councillor – Churwell Ward

There is a vacancy on Morley Town Council for a Councillor to represent the Churwell Ward.

This position will be filled by co-option at a meeting of the Full Council meeting to be held on 6th November 2019 at 7.00 pm in the Council Chamber, Morley Town Hall.

To be considered for this vacancy, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria and be at least 18 years of age:-

1.         Be registered as a local government elector for the town on the current Electoral Register.

2.         Have, during the whole of the previous 12 months, occupied as tenant or owner, any land or other premises  in the town.

3.         Have had his/her principal or only place of work in the previous 12 months in the town of Morley.

4.         Has resided either in the town or within 3 miles thereof during the previous 12 months.

Anyone wishing to be considered for this vacancy should apply, in writing, to the Council at the address below, to be received by no later than Friday, 27th September 2019, explaining in the letter why you wish to be considered as a member of the council and include any other information you consider relevant to the application.

All applications received will be considered at the Full Council meeting on Wednesday,  6th November 2019, and a decision will be made regarding the successful applicant.
