Town Council back local improvements from Community Infrastructure Levy

Morley Town Council have agreed to improve CCTV provision at both Morley Leisure Centre and Churwell Park.  This expenditure will come from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and will enhance existing camera provision.

The Mayor of Morley, Councillor Robert Finnigan said “We are happy to support the proposals at both these locations.  The Leisure Centre is currently subject to increased vandalism and CIL income received by the Town Council is an excellent way of funding enhanced services.  The Leisure Centre expanded system will cover the outside of the Kirkness Room, which is popular with centre users. The Churwell Park CCTV system will overlook the newly-refurbished children’s play area.

Councillor Judith Elliott said “The Town Council has funding which can be used to improved local infrastructure to improve the quality of life of local residents.  We believe this is what we have achieved by supporting both projects.”
