Town Council agrees to fund road safety improvements
At a meeting of Morley Town Council it was agreed to source the finance to improve road safety at pedestrian crossings across the Morley area. The safety improvement plan, which will see belisha beacons being enhanced with an additional halo lighting effect, will be financed by the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), a payment the Town Council receives from developers bringing new housing developments into the Morley area.
Councillor Jim Aveyard said “This will keep Morley residents safer as it will make pedestrian crossings better places to cross. The additional lighting programme will enhance road safety making it a safer environment for both motorists and pedestrians.”
