Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
It is with regret and sadness that Morley Town Council offer their sincere condolences to the Royal Family on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Many of our people will still remember Alderman Joseph Rhodes (Mayor of Morley) who welcomed the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh to our Town Hall on the 28th of October 1954.
Her devotion, courage and strength leading the United Kingdom, and the Commonwealth, through 70 years is an example of exceptional public service. We all lived through a platinum reign in which we may never see again.

I, the Mayor of Morley along with all Town Councillors, are deeply saddened to hear about the loss to the Royal Family, our hearts are with them in this time of sorrow.
On behalf of the people of Morley and as the Town’s First Citizen, words cannot express how sorry we all are to hear the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The memory of my predecessor Alderman Joseph Rhodes welcoming the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh to our Town Hall in 1954, is something we will all cherish indefinitely.
I would like to bring to the attention of the public, a book of condolence which is present in the foyer of the entrance of Morley Town Hall for anyone wishing to pay their respects.
