The Mayor of Morley

At the formation of Morley Town Council in the year 2000, one of the very first matters for discussion was the issue of Town Mayor.  Under the relevant legislation it was possible to elect a Town Mayor and a Deputy Mayor.

This format has been followed each year with the election to Office of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor and the  AGM of Morley Town Council.

At the AGM held in May 2008 the Town Council elected to the Office of Mayor, Councillor Terry Grayshon.  Councillor Grayshon will act as

                                  

an ambassador for Morley at Civic Events, as well as Chairing the meetings of Morley Town Council.  Councillor Grayshon will be accompanied in his duties by the Mayoress Councillor Judith Elliott.
